A chance to taste, learn, sip and shop
this festive season


To help prepare for the festive season ahead,
The Bonnie Badger is set to host a series of winter workshops,
designed to spark some festive spirit.

Working in close collaboration with a collective of our local suppliers, we’ll help you learn which wine will pair perfectly with your Christmas dinner, learn how to concoct some seasonal gin or whisky cocktails, make your own wreath or make your own candles.

Our intimate events are held in our private dining room, and aim to inspire your festive dining, drinking, gifting and gatherings.

Candle Making Magic
with Melrose Candles

Thursday 2nd December, 7.30pm – 9.00pm


Join Edinburgh-based Melrose Candle Co for a truly sensory experience.  You’ll enjoy mulled wine and mince pies as you hear about the process of creating a new scent.  Watch the candle masters at work as they weigh, pour and stir the candle, and get the chance to help in the making process as it progresses. 

At Melrose, every scent has a story to tell, and the founders will share some of their favourite scents, their ethos, what inspires them and how they create each unique scent.

Bookings: £40 per person, inclusive of your own Melrose Original Candle to take home, as well as our signature mulled wine and handmade mince pies.

Whisky Tasting Workshop
with Johnnie Walker

Friday 3rd December, 7.30pm – 9.00pm

Whisky Tasting Workshop

Join knowledgeable experts from Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky, as they guide you through a warming winter whisky journey.  You’ll enjoy a selection of festive canapés, matched elegantly with a whisky cocktail on arrival, followed by a trio of whiskies to sample, each carefully curated and perfectly paired with festive flavours. 

Whisky experts Ali and David will share the story and heritage of the Johnnie Walker brand and share the flavour profiles of each whisky.  

Bookings: £25 per person, inclusive of seasonal canapés, a whisky cocktail followed by three whiskies

Festive Wine Tasting
with L’art du Vin

Thursday 9th December, 6.30pm – 8.00pm


Join Richard Bouglet, Director at independent wine merchant, L’art du Vin as he shares a fine festive wine selection matched with a collection of seasonal canapés.

Richard will share insights and helpful hints on Christmas food and wine pairings.  As guests sample five festive wines, Richard will share the story of each wine and its producer, its flavour profiles, as well as what each wine will pair perfectly with.

The team at L’art du Vin share our passion for wines made by artisan producers, that are created with passion, integrity, and uniqueness of origin.

Bookings: £30 per person, inclusive of canapes served with a selection of five festive wines.

Wreath Making Workshop
with Foxglove Flowers

Friday 10th December, 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Wreath Making Workshop

Join expert florist Kate Purdie, as she guides you through a masterclass in making a stylish festive wreath, while you enjoy champagne and canapés. You’ll have the chance to create your own wreath, using locally sourced florals and foliage, set to the backdrop of some festive music to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Bookings: £65 per person, inclusive of your own wreath, as well as one glass of champagne, along with a selection of seasonal canapés prepared by our team of chefs.

Become a Cocktail Connoisseur
with Fidra Gin

Thursday 16th December, 6.30pm – 8.00pm

Become a Cocktail Connoisseur with Fidra Gin

Award-winning, Fidra Gin is a pure, clean and fragrant gin, made using a clever combination of botanicals, all foraged or grown right on our doorstep in East Lothian.

We’ve joined together with Fidra founders, Emma Bouglet and Jo Brydie, to share some simple serves and elegant cocktails to take you through the festive season.

Join us to watch, learn, taste and then try concocting your own cocktails, using Fidra Gin, along with a selection of local and seasonal ingredients.

Bookings: £30 per person, inclusive of seasonal canapes and a trio of Gin serves.
